My Final Reflections~

When I first started this program, I was a little nervous being out of school for a while.  I sat back and had time to reflect on my life, family, God, and school.  There are many reasons why I chose this for my new adventure.  One beginning with my girls.  I want to be able to have a positive impact on my daughters, peers, and the community.  I want to be able to bring back great academics, sports, and a safe place for them.  It’s truly in my heart and soul to want to make a difference and it started with being a teacher, coach, mentor, and now as an administrator.
There is so much to learn about this position, what’s, and the how’s.  So, many people including my administration are saying are you sure you want to go into this profession? During my internship it has opened my eyes to just a little fraction on what goes on it the High School and what they have to deal with on a daily basis.  All I can say is “WOW”, there is so much to learn and seems to be a lot of stress and a lot of family time away.  I know I can’t do it any better, but I want to be able to get it as much organized and running smoothly so that those little bumps in the road are able to be fixed and fast.
Going through this program has made it a reality now.  I am taking all this in and trying to relate and use in my everyday experience at the high school.  The Discussion boards are such an amazing revolution to this because it able us to talk, discuss, and collaborate with one another on different topics.  People ask been giving me the best advice on my reflections and topics discussed.  This is how we are going to learn by going through what others have gone through and have researched these things out.  I want to be able to learn and know how to do something right the first time, but I know we learn by trials and tribulations as well.  This also goes hand in hand with our Face book page for Admin Ed Leaders.  They have been absolutely amazing and when things haven’t been very clear, we are all able to pull together and work with one another to get through this as a team.
Something that I have always been rejecting is the blogging.  This honestly has been a good thing for me and trying to get out of my comfort zone.  Again we are able to collaborate with one another and feed off each other’s thoughts.  I am the one who loves to journal, but with paper and pen.  This has been the ultimate experience, because of all the insight that this has opened my eyes up to a whole new revolution in technology that can be used as a great tool and used for many different other things as well as in teaching, by using examples, class notes, school news, parent updates, and etc.
One other thing that has been great is the assignments and activities.  I can tell you that there are a lot of assignments to get my busy, but a lot of them have been really helpful.  Again the action research project has been great.  It’s been the hardest one for me, but that is why I like it.  It’s a challenge in many ways.  This is a tool that I will continue to use in teacher and admin one day.  Before I make any major decision, I will research it out and try to find the best way and solution to handle it.  Putting programs in place, would be another great one to research to see what has or hasn’t work for other school districts that have been through this.  There is no use of wasting time on something that someone else has already research and its working.  That is why also, I love listening to the two principles and superintendent on the videos during week 4’s assignments.  I loved that use want to use data and research in all decision making.
Overall, I am excited to see what’s to come and all the things that I will learn.  There is still so much that I need to be exposing to.  For instance: all the curriculum, testing, management, mentoring, etc.  One thing that my campus has me thrown into to is discipline which by the end of the year I will have a ton of experience in.  They are having me sit in a lot of disciplining meetings, attendance, and attendance court.  I love this area and feel like it goes back to Classroom Management.  This is why I chose this for my Action Research Plan, because there Is so much that can be done by taking the appropriate actions that lead up into the classroom to avoid SOME of these situations.  I have the heart and desire to research this out and help these teachers who are struggling in this area.  I honestly feel like I have been tremendously blessed in that area and have such a good report with the students and how they have done academically as well. I am looking forward to the rest of the program and to see myself grow as a person, teacher, and as administrator.

Site Supervisor Conference and Consensus on your Action Research Plan

Discussion on Action Plan
I met with my on site Principle to discuss the Action Research Plan. He looked at the Tool 7.0 Action Planning Template. We went over the Action Step(s), Person(s) Responsible, and Timeline: Start/End, Needed Resources, and the Evaluation.  He and I discuss all that was listed and he approved all of it.  Some of the suggestions that he has was that the teachers that are struggling with the classroom management that I discuss with the teachers myself and work with them.  Also, that they go into the Master Teachers and evaluate them and see how they management their class and learn from their own colleagues.  He thinks then they would get a personal hands-on experience with them and it would be a better learning tool. Also to Develop or research some professional development classes at Region 16 or other school districts that have addressed the issue with their teachers and have been successful.  These are the only things as of now that I would need to add or change to my Revision plan as of now.

Please if you have the chance look over my action plan Template and Action Research Plan and leave a comment with any suggestions you may have.  I would so appreciate it!!!!!
