Assignment 2 Reflection

All nine of these are different, but related in so many ways.  What I mean by that is that they overlap each other, but are presented in many different possibilities.  Each is to help explore many areas that would come about while in administration.  Some of these have left me to thinking of all the endless possibilities one might have at their campus. The one topic that I would choose for my action research paper, I would recommend that it be something that I am passionate about.  The time and devotion that will be put into it will be a greatly appreciate lesson that will be able to take with me as an administrator.  Action research will refer to a practical way of looking at my own work to check that it is as I would like it to be.  It will involve the way I think about and reflect on my work, it will be great way to self-reflective practice.  The main reason for teachers to engage in action research is to learn from and to improve their own teaching activities. I am excited to see the outcome of my research and what I learn from it.  I love CHANGE and love to learn.  I find some of this challenging, but when I sit to reflect of what I have done this far, I am excited and know I can do anything I put my heart into.

What is Action Research

What is Action Research

Sunday 14, 2012

Before EDLD 5301, I really never thought about action research and what all was involved.  I can say that I have learned a lot about the action research and the different areas that are researched based.  Action Research focuses on the concern of practitioners that are not outside researcher and engage practitioners in design, data collection, and land interpretation of data around their question.  Action Research has many benefits as well as being powerful, underutilized tool principals can use to cultivate their craft and improve school performance.  We want to use action research to change our ways and not be content where we are at.  Once we get to that point where we are comfortable then there really is no point of being an educator or in administration. There is a cycle to action research it is planning, action, monitoring, and reflection.  I strongly feel like we need to follow that cycle in everything we do or for implementing a plan on our campus.  There are several reasons action research needs to be done, it is a practical way for individuals to explore the nature of their performance and improve it.  It will force them to use action as a means of research by planned change is implemented, monitored, and analyzed.  Action Research can change the approach the way the campus is ran.  I hope during my internship that I am able to make a difference and put action research into play while going through this program.  I have a lot of responsibilities right now and they are really asking for my input and trusting in me whole heartedly and that means the world to me, know if I can put action into words and produce for our campus.

How Leader can use Blogging

Blogging has never been a part of my life at all, but can say that is it something I will be doing now.  Blogging about your experiences and learning about are a great way to reflect on what’s going on in the classroom, on the campus, and to promote new ideas to the community.  Blogging is a whole different world, but I can say it is any easy way for teachers and administration to communicate.  Also, this would be a great tool to put different examples of the homework that is assigned, so that the students can get help from their parents.  I have heard to many times that parents can’t help because of their being no examples or step-by-step process to show how to come to the conclusion.
